The Sacrament of Confirmation
Preparation for Confirmation consists of a variety of activities designed to help high school students, 9th grade or older, understand the various ways in which Jesus Christ is present in their lives. Students explore their Catholic faith and learn how to apply their beliefs to everyday life through participation in small group sessions, large group presentations, service projects, prayers services, music and an overnight retreat. Classes are generally scheduled on Sunday evenings, 6:30-8:00 p.m., with the exception of some special activities. Volunteer catechists, guest speakers and peer ministers work together to guide our candidates on their spiritual journey. The Confirmation preparation process involves not only the individuals who are preparing to celebrate the sacrament, but also their families and the entire parish community.
