Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults - RCIA
The Rite of Christian Initiation is a process of welcoming non baptized adults, or adults baptized in another faith tradition, into our Catholic family. It is a time of inquiry, learning, prayer and community. This rite is also an opportunity for baptized Catholics who wish to prepare for Confirmation and/or Eucharist, to do so. St. Rose of Lima partners with our neighboring parish, Corpus Christi, in the R.C.I.A process. This includes sharing staffs, facilities and small group sessions.
At St. Rose of Lima, the R.C.I.A. meets from September through the week after Easter, on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM.
Sponsors: St. Rose is always in need of parishioners who are willing to share the experiences of their faith with others by becoming a sponsor in the R.C.I.A. journey. Sponsors participate in all of the small group sessions and rites with the Catechumens (non baptized) and Candidates (baptized in other faith tradition or baptized Catholic and preparing for Confirmation and/or Eucharist.).
In 2008-2009 all RCIA sessions will meet at the Saint Rose of Lima Parish Center, located 2048 Hamline Avenue North, Roseville. Sessions begin @ 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
