Computer Education

Students in grades K-5 have Computer class once a week for 35 minutes. The middle school students come once a week for 40 minutes. We have 25 eMac computers currently in our lab. Some key features of our lab:

The student computers run Microsoft Office programs
We have a brand new color laser printer purchased in January 2007
We have scanners, a set of digital cameras, two LCD projectors, and a set of flip cameras.

We also work hard to ensure that our students have the opportunity to utilize our lab and gain valuable technology experience:

Keyboarding skills are introduced in kindergarten and are emphasized at every grade level.
Internet and computer safety units are covered in every grade level.
The technology curriculum K-8 follows set Learner Outcomes (standards for learning).
Each middle school student receives a personal account to store files.
The 8th grade students may join the Technology Committee. This committee's responsibilities include putting together the school yearbook with digital photos, layouts, and yearbook software, and creating an 8th Grade Memories DVD using iMovie.

At the K-5 level, grading is based on participation and effort. The grades are:
