Adult Enrichment

St. Rose of Lima has hosted adult enrichment offerings spanning the gamut of our rich Faith. Since 1998, a partnership with neighboring Corpus Christi Parish, has allowed us to offer even a broader array of topics and presenters.

A variety of Biblical scholars have led our annual Scripture study series. These Scripture studies have anchored enrichment years centered around sacred art, our Jewish-Christian heritage, faith in the family, the call to be Catholic, finding God in a demanding world and racism, to name but a few.  Our fall 2007 Parish Mission, led by Father Thomas Donaldson, C.S.S.R., brought the people of our community closer to the joy and peace found abundantly within the Body of Christ, and encouraged us to take up the personal and communal call to participate in the mission of Jesus.

A sampling of past presenters include theologian and composer, Father Michael Joncas, Biblical scholar and author, Arthur Zannoni; leaders from the Jay Phillips Center for Jewish-Christian Learning at the University of St. Thomas, Rabbi Barry Cytron and Professor John Merkle; Johan van Parys, Director of Liturgy, the Basilica of Saint Mary; bibliodrama master teacher, Peter Pitzele, PhD., Deborah Savage, PhD, Institute of Catholic Social Thought, University of St. Thomas, Sister Katarina Schuth, The Catholic Common Ground Initiative, (arts): composer, singer and recording artist,  Donna Pena, iconographer, Sister Kate Holmberg, and film maker Deborah Boldt.

Season's of Love Series
"Love, then, consists in this: not that we have loved God but that He has loved us and has sent His son as an offering for our sins.  Beloved, if God has loved us so, we must have the same love for one another."
1 John 4:10-11
